Trekking: Huerquehue Park
Is located in the Region of Araucanía, Province of Cautín Communes of Cunco and Pucón. It was created on June 9, 1967, by Supreme Decree No. 347 of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The unit stands out for the protection of wildlife species such as the Valdivian Mole Mouse, Choroy, Lizard Matuasto and Darwin’s Frog. As far as flora is concerned, there is the Araucaria.
The great diversity of natural resources, its imposing and leafy forests and its millenary trees are the main attraction of the Huerquehue National Park or “place of messengers”.
Not to mention that they are the same araucarias which are reflected in more than 16 lakes and lagoons.
This park has several trails, all signposted: the trekking is done surrounded by nature, which together with the song of the birds such as: the carpenter, the torcaza, the eaglet and the mysterious chucao make this place something indecipherable that you will never forget.
